Typografood - A thesis on typography in food packaging
This is my 10,000 word thesis about how food brands use typography on packaging as a tool to attract consumers, and discussing what the ethical responsibilities are for the designers working in this field.
Featuring an interview with ‘Type Tasting’ founder, and author of ‘Why Fonts Matter’, Sarah Hyndman.
I used primary and secondary research to inform my thesis, including a survey I created titled ‘Interpretype’, which you can see here, and conducting interviews.

For the physical thesis design, I hand bound it using section binding, and hand made a hard cover with hot metal plate foiling for the text. The thesis was then designed in a sweet wrapper style, which was then torn open to read the thesis.
